TEAM TISSER FOUNDATION: THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER, LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA
Doron M. Tisser and Laurie J. Tisser co-founded Team Tisser Foundation (TTF), a non-profit corporation. TTF is designed specifically to raise money for various charitable purposes and does not focus on any one charity or charitable purpose; rather, its goal is to raise as much money as possible to “Help Make A Difference” by “Improving Life for Others.”
Our Firm understands that life is about more than just work; it involves commitment and the willingness to give to others, whether directly or through fund-raising. Team Tisser Foundation is our Firm’s commitment to our clients, friends and family members and the fight against cancer. This is an important matter to both Doron, who has lost several members of his family to cancer, including his Dad, aunt, uncle and his mother-in-law.
TTF has made contributions to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, American Red Cross, American Red Magen David, Habitat for Humanity, Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, American Jewish Joint Distribution, American Jewish World Services, Catholic Relief Services, Oxfam America, Save the Children, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis Society. Fund-raising is accomplished in several ways. First, TTF raises monies through donations supporting participation by Doron and Laurie in various activities, including triathlons, half-marathons, marathons, and breast cancer walks. You can call us about these events or you can see them at TTF’s web-site, www.teamtisser.org. For example, Doron completed the 2006 Ironman Coeur d' Alene on June 25, 2006 (which consisted of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run). TTF also raises monies through unsolicited donations from people who want to donate to charities without being placed on the charities’ mailing lists. You can donate monies to TTF with directions as to which charity you want your donation to benefit. TTF will then forward its own check to your charity of choice, thus eliminating your being placed on mailing lists.
TTF also accepts donations of items that can be auctioned or sold to raise money. Such items include autographed memorabilia, tickets to concerts and sporting events, gift certificates for hotel stays, airline tickets and new items such as toys, CDs and DVDs.
Finally, TTF hopes to have a benefit concert in the near future to help raise monies, as well as a silent auction and other events, which you will be able to read about at the web-site.
We welcome your donations to TTF and ask that you give as much as you can to help TTF in its support of various charities. Remember, all donations made to TTF are tax-deductible and TTF will send you a letter acknowledging your donation, which you can use for your tax purposes.
